The Reopening, join Skal Philadelphia Virtual Meeting to hear learn the strategies hotels will implement as they Reopen as Philadelphia enters the Yellow Phase.
Hotels in Center City at this point in the year should be buzzing with activity, but most sit quiet and empty due to COVID-19.
Hotel business is unlike anything the local economy has seen in years. This has resulted in a negative impact that is equal to nine times the amount that we saw from 9/11. The dollar figure is in the neighborhood of $1.3 billion dollars in lost revenue just between March and April.
That loss impacting some 70,000 workers in the hospitality industry outside just hotel employees: workers include suppliers to hotels, taxis drivers, and gift shop employees.
Philadelphia and its surrounding counties — Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery — are in the yellow phase of reopening, welcoming residents and visitors to enjoy some of the best parts of Greater Philadelphia with new safety measures.
Hear from Skal Philadelphia featured Ed Grose, Executive Director, Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association as he shares insights regarding the State of Philadelphia’s Hotel Industry and Guidelines for Hotel Reopening.
